The GNI Student Fellowship 2023 has just opened applications offering paid summer placements for students and recent graduates who want to kick-start their careers in journalism and media. According to the European Journalism Centre (EJC) the GNI Student Fellowship is the biggest entry-level journalism fellowship in Europe. The programme is managed by EJC in partnership with Google News Initiative. It is aimed at students and recent graduates who can apply to become Student Fellows and work at one of the participating newsrooms for eight weeks during the summer and get compensated for their work.
This year, we’re excited to become the diversity partners of the programme to help implement the blind recruitment process and ensure that this opportunity is equally accessible to all skillful applicants regardless of their background.
In 2023 the Fellowship is offering 20 placements across 9 European countries, including two in Poland, one in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and one in Wysokie Obcasy Magazine (Agora). You can see the full list of participating newsrooms here.
